It’s Time to Build: Build It and I Will Bless It
In spite of what it currently looks like in the world, we are living in such an exciting time for the people of God! We are moving into the time spoken of in Numbers 14:21 when the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. You might ask, “How will this happen?” The Father will accomplish this through His people. God is shifting many of us into a season of building and establishing. He is calling for willing servants who will build Him a temple–a place for His presence to dwell.
Now let me clarify, this dwelling is not limited to a physical building; but the temple can signify a number of things in which the Spirit of God can inhabit and be glorified within for all the world to see. The temple God may be calling you to build could be a ministry, a business, a community or foreign outreach, a school, and the list goes on. It could even be characterized as a book, a song or any type of creative expression that embodies the presence of God for the purpose of impacting the nations for His glory. The temple God has called you to build can also be “a people” He has called you to raise up as a habitation for His Spirit such as: intercessors, missionaries, musicians, children, youth, seniors, etc. No matter what the temple may be in your life, the directive from the Spirit for you is: “Build it and I will bless it!”
In I Kings 5:3-5, we are given the opportunity to eavesdrop on the conversation of Solomon as he relays to one of his allies his plans to build God a temple. Solomon understood the timing of the Lord and was poised to do what the previous generation couldn’t do. David, his father, desired to build God a temple but couldn’t because he wasn’t called and it wasn’t the right timing (read I Kings 5:3-5, I Chronicles 22:6-10).
David typifies many of us who in previous seasons set forth with good intentions to build God a temple. You, however, didn’t get things off the ground because you hit a God-imposed roadblock because you stepped outside of your sphere of grace and/or God’s timing. Did you hear that? A God-imposed roadblock stopped you.
Listen, this word comes as an encouragement to you. God knows the plans He has for you and has seen your heart. He’s not mad at you, and you’re not a failure. Just like God promised to bless David for his good intentions through the next generation (his son, Solomon), He’s going to bless you too in the next season of your life.
You see, Solomon typifies the new season you’re entering into, where God is calling you to build a temple for His Glory. And more importantly, what you must understand is the time to build is right now! Here’s why (as revealed by the Spirit): The Lord, on your behalf, has placed a moratorium on the enemy to be at rest. A moratorium can be defined as a temporary prohibition of an activity, a ban, or a freeze. Therefore all demonic interference, which opposed you in your previous seasons, has been placed on notice to cease fire. Let’s look at I Kings 5:3-5:
3) You know how David my father could not build a house to the Name of the Lord his God because wars were about him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under his feet. 4) But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil confronting me. 5) And I purpose to build a house to the Name of the Lord my God, as the Lord said to David my father, Your son whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house to My Name and Presence.(Amplified Bible)
You have to get this! Here’s a spiritual download just for you! In your previous seasons *(in particular the last seven years) God was perfecting (maturing) you through the warfare. And like David in I Chronicles 22:14, you have collected the spoils from the warfare during this experience to help you build a temple for God’s glory in this new season of your life. For you see, everything David won and gained in the battles against his enemies were passed on to Solomon, his son, to build God a glorious temple:
14) I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them. (NIV)
I stand in agreement with the Spirit and prophetically declare unto you, “Whatever you have purposed in your heart to do, do it!” Now I’m not talking about throwing caution to the wind and doing whatever you feel like doing. But I’m talking about taking action to execute and release the God-ordained, God-inspired will and purpose for your life.
I proclaim a word of activation to you today. Build God’s temple: pick up the pen and start or finish the book, sign the papers, apply for the resources, make contact with people that can help you complete the vision, start the business, move forward in ministry, write the song or poem, produce the album, set up the website, advertise, buy, sell, establish, sow a seed, plant, pursue, BUILD! Your spiritual window of opportunity is open; the Lord has orchestrated things in the spirit for you and now is the time to build God a temple for His habitation and your edification. For if you build God’s house, He’ll build your house!
Kingdom blessings!
